Overview
TubeCoach ("we", "us", or "the app") helps creators analyze YouTube video metadata and, for signed-in channel owners, review their own private YouTube analytics. This policy describes what information we access and how we handle it. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
Information we access
We access the minimum data needed to provide the analysis you request:
- Google account profile. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture to identify your session.
- Your YouTube channel and videos. With your authorization (
youtube.readonly), we read your channel details and the list of your uploaded videos. - Your YouTube analytics. With your authorization (
yt-analytics.readonly), we read performance metrics for your videos, such as views, watch time, average view duration and percentage, subscribers gained, likes, comments, shares, and audience retention. - Public video metadata. When you paste a public YouTube URL, we fetch that video's public metadata using our own API key. This is not tied to your Google account.
How we use your information
We use this information solely to generate and display analysis and analytics back to you within the app during your session. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Google user data and Limited Use
TubeCoach's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We only use Google user data to provide and improve the user-facing features described in this policy, and we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide those features, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger with appropriate protections.
AI processing and third parties
When you choose to enhance a suggestion with AI, the app sends only the relevant video's public metadata (such as title, description, and the specific finding) to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI or Google Gemini) to generate recommendations. We do not send your Google account profile, authorization tokens, or private YouTube analytics to these providers.
We also rely on infrastructure providers (for hosting) that process requests on our behalf. These providers are limited to what is necessary to operate the service.
Storage, retention, and security
Your session is maintained through an encrypted, HTTP-only cookie. Your Google access and refresh tokens are kept server-side within that encrypted session and are never exposed to the browser. We do not store your YouTube analytics in a database; they are fetched on demand and returned to you for the request. All traffic is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and revoking access
You can sign out at any time from within the app. You can also review and revoke TubeCoach's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access stops all future data access.
Children
TubeCoach is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
